Join Justin & Neil in Veuve Cliquot Gold Cup country. Accompany them on a tour around the historic private grounds of the Cowdray Estate, set around Midhurst, West Sussex. Explore areas of the Estate landscaped by Capability Brown and usually off limits to members of the public. On our Full Fungi Experiences, you will enjoy lunch in the great outdoors and sample 'real' wild mushroom soup cooked on a campfire.

With their years of experience and extensive knowledge of wild fungi, Justin & Neil established Wild Foragers and these Wild Fungi Tours in order to show and teach people all about how to find and safely identify only edible 'wild mushrooms'.

There are thousands of varieties of fungi - some edible and some extremely poisonous. On these Wild Fungi Tours, we will endeavour to show you how to identify more than twenty of the most desirable edible varieties, including Ceps (Porcini), Pied de Mouton (Hedgehog) and Girolles (Chanterelle), that you can pick and take away with you.

The Cowdray Estate extends to about 16.500 acres, of which 36% is woodland - three times the national average. The main conifer species on the Estate, such as Douglas Fir, Norway Spruce, Corsican Pine and Scots Pine, house the majority of the most sought after fungi. The 400 year old Chestnut Avenue and the large population of semi ancient Beech and Oak also provide a perfect habitat.

The varying soil types across the Estate and the vast range of woodland encompasses almost every type of fungi and Justin & Neil are able to show you how to locate many of the very best varieties.
